Heartland Camera Jibs operates the industry standard Stanton Jimmy Jib Triangle and Jimmy Jib Lite.
HCJ can provide jibs in various lengths from 6' to 30'. All jibs allow for full electronic and mechanical control over all camera functions. We can fly any camera setup up to 50 lbs. Correct jib arm length is crucial to obtaining the best possible shot angles therefore, pre-production is key. We will work with you to gather all the information necessary to make that call. Location scouts are available. Click here for jib size chart.
Set up time for the Jimmy Jib Triangle usually takes about 2 hours, depending on the size of the arm and the load in. We recommend allowing 2.5 to 3 hours for set up time to allow for basic production logistics. Please note that this is an estimated time and can be either shorter or longer based on various conditions.
We provide lens control for Canon and Fujinon ENG/EFP style lenses. Lens control for other lenses can be provided, but may incur an additional fee. Film style lens control needs to be provided by your camera vendor or your camera assistant. It is recommended that your AC reaches out to us if you have a film style shoot.
We transport the jib in our enclosed trailer to your location. Our cases are also truck pack compatible, and can be easily loaded on and off of your box truck and semi trailers. All our cases are on wheels for easy transport.
MULTI-CAM SWITCHED SHOWS
- At least 50 ft of Triax or camera cable should be dropped at the base of the jib. AC power (15A 120V) should also be provided at the jib. If the jib is to be located in a high traffic location, a security barricade is recommended.
- Program video can either be pulled from the camera or truck. We can accept program video in either SD or HD feed.
- For communication, an RTS box or wireless com with appropriate cabling is requested. Also, a double muff headset is preferred.
AC (15A 120V) power is preferred. However, in cases where AC is not available, HCJ has the ability to run the Jimmy Jib Triangle and our monitors off of battery power for the day. HCJ will not be able to provide power for your camera or other equipment unless preparations are made before production begins.
Please inform your crew that they should carry at least 75ft to 100ft of necessary cable. This will cover the run from the camera, down the arm and to the teleprompter work area.
Some jobs may require HCJ to provide its own jib assist/utility for set up/load out days or for the whole show.
